Final Project Series
For my final series I decided to focus on the same subject that i focused on on my last project, which was mental health problems, in specific dissociative identity disorder. In the beginning I was very ambitious, but completely forgot I had other projects for my other art class so I simplified my idea.
In my original idea I had planned to create six pieces, each would be made up of two layers which would combine to depict to people (but it would be the same person). For the transparent top layer, I was going to use pencil on paper that mimics tracing paper, but later found out that it smeared very easily and I did not have time to learn how to use it.
My backup for this project was to simply draw six portraits of myself, in somewhat different styles; some with patterns, some so light that it seemed faded and old. The purpose of my techniques were to demonstrate each drawing as its own individual, but in a way relate it to the other drawings around it so it would combine as one.
Compared to my other project in the class, I do believe I improved immensely but also believe that my final series was not the best or as good as it could be. I believe that the series before this one depicts my potential and my creativity much better, but I do think that this series depicted more emotion and that the message was more clear. These pieces are something I would love to keep working on until I am happy with the results.
